Semi-Custom Relief Walls from $2,500
Our sculpted patterns, laid out for the wall you actually have: edges cut to size, composition centered on the bed or the fireplace, seams worked into one continuous surface. About $60–75 per sq ft, installed, in two to three weeks.
Send the wall's width and height with a photo — we come back within 24 hours with a layout drawn over your own wall and an honest range.

What you actually get
Same material and same sculpted patterns as our ready-made panels. The difference is that nothing is set as it comes: the composition is drawn for your wall's real dimensions and for what stands in front of it.
- Edge modules cut to your exact wall. Ready-made panels leave a strip of off-cuts where the wall does not divide evenly. Here there is no strip — the composition ends where the wall ends.
- Centered on what matters — the headboard, the fireplace opening, the TV — rather than on the geometric middle of the room.
- Seams worked into one continuous relief surface. From six feet away there are no joints to find. This is the single thing that separates a sculpted wall from panels glued to drywall.
- Tone mixed to your interior from a reference or a sample you give us — not chosen off a card.
- Two patterns can be combined, and the density of the relief can change across the wall — heavier where the light rakes, quieter behind furniture.

What the price includes
Every price we quote is installed and complete. There is no separate design fee and no separate installation fee.
- A measuring visit on site — free within 40 miles of Jacksonville. In this tier we measure the wall ourselves rather than working from your photos: cut edges need real numbers.
- A layout of the composition drawn over a photo of your own wall, before anything is made.
- Casting, cutting and fitting the modules to your wall's dimensions.
- Tone matched to your room and applied by us.
- Delivery, and installation by our own crew — one to three days on site.
- Seam filling and edge finishing into a continuous surface.
- Clean-up of the room when we leave.
What it does not include
Quoted separately, because they depend on your wall
- Removing old finishes, or leveling an uneven wall — $300–800
- Scaffolding, if the wall is over 10 ft — $400
- Ceiling installation — adds 30–50% to the installation labor
- Travel beyond 40 miles from Jacksonville — $150 per working day
- A hand-sculpted focal element on the cast background — $800–1,500
Not in this tier at all
- A new master model or mold made for your project. That is what a custom sculpted wall is, and it is priced as one.
- Electrical, LED integration, outlets, relocating a TV bracket — we coordinate with your electrician.
- Cabinetry, shelving and media units. We sculpt the relief field; the carpentry around it comes from a carpenter, ours or yours.
- Painting the surrounding walls, ceilings, baseboard or trim.
- Showers, splash zones, exteriors, screened porches, garages and any wall with an active leak. Gypsum and standing water are a bad long-term match.
Price and timeline
$60–75 per sq ft, installed, two to three weeks. Most semi-custom walls land between $2,500 and $5,000, which is what the rate gives you up to roughly 70 sq ft. A larger wall is not a different tier — it is the same work over more area, at the same rate.
Per square foot
Multiply your wall by the rate. Above ~70 sq ft the number keeps going at the same rate rather than jumping — 90 sq ft of semi-custom is not custom work.
Wide panel behind the bed
Centered on the headboard rather than the wall, so the bed stops looking like it was pushed against a pattern.
Surround in a cast pattern
Relief around the opening, cut to the firebox and the hearth. No off-cuts meeting the mantel.
Relief field around the TV
We sculpt the field, not the furniture. Brackets and cabinetry stay your carpenter's and your electrician's work.
Corridor composition
A long narrow wall is the hardest thing to lay out from stock and the easiest thing to get right when the edges are cut.
Cast medallion
The smallest semi-custom job we do, and below the tier's usual floor — because it is a small area, not a cheaper technology.
Every wall type and its price is in the full price guide — prices are on the page, not behind a form.
Where this tier stops
Move up to custom when…
- You want a pattern we do not have. Semi-custom arranges what exists; custom makes a new master model for your project.
- You want an authored composition rather than a layout — a drawing that starts on paper, not a grid that starts from modules.
- "So that nobody else has this" is the actual brief. In this tier the pattern is ours and it is used again; in the next tier the composition exists once.
- The wall is larger than about 130 sq ft, where a repeated field starts to read as wallpaper and needs hand work to hold together.
Go down to ready-made when…
- The budget is fixed. The honest move is less area, not a cheaper wall: a focal panel in ready-made instead of the full wall in semi-custom. Same plaster, same crew, smaller composition — three to five days instead of three weeks.
- The wall divides evenly into modules anyway and you are happy with a base tone. You would be paying for fitting you do not need.
- You need it this week. Nothing in this tier is a three-day job.
Questions about this tier
What makes it semi-custom rather than ready-made?
The layout is designed for your exact wall. Edge modules are cut to size instead of leaving a strip of off-cuts, the composition is centered on the bed or the fireplace rather than on the room, the tone is matched to your interior, and the seams are worked into one continuous relief surface. Ready-made panels are set as they come.
Will I see the joints between the panels?
No. Filling and finishing the seams into a single continuous surface is included in every semi-custom quote. That is the visible difference between a sculpted wall and panels glued to drywall, and it is the reason this tier is worth its rate.
What does a semi-custom wall cost?
$60–75 per sq ft installed. A 40 sq ft panel behind a bed is $2,600–3,000; a 48 sq ft fireplace surround is $3,200–3,800; a 60 sq ft field around a TV is $3,800–4,500; a 50 sq ft hallway composition is $3,000–3,600. Walls larger than about 70 sq ft cost more at the same rate — the technology does not change, the area does.
Can I have one hand-sculpted element without paying for a custom wall?
Yes. A single hand-sculpted focal element on a cast background is $800–1,500 on top of the wall. It is the piece guests walk up to, and everything else on the wall is what makes it affordable.
Can you match a specific color?
Yes. In this tier the tone is mixed to your room from a reference or a sample you give us, and it is included in the price rather than sold as an upgrade. Metallic, patina and multi-layer tinting are quoted on top.
How long does it take?
Two to three weeks once the layout is approved. One to three days of that is installation on site; the rest is casting, cutting and finishing for your specific wall.
